Ramifications
The complex consequences of an action or event. Or the biological process of branching out?
Trees ramify
They grow, they proliferate and they disperse. They create oxygen and provide habitats for biotic life. They are essential building blocks of multispecies worlds.
The biosphere shimmers
A brilliant, radiant, flash of light that catches the human eye. Shimmer materialises from life in a vibrant, pulsating world. But for shimmer to catch the eye, there must also be absence.
Voids form
Empty niches are left wherever species disappear. The mutual symbiosis that creates shimmer also causes extinction cascades; one species follows another into oblivion. Here, more than anywhere, the human contribution to shimmer can be seen.
Absence matters
Voids are an intrinsic part of nature. They represent destruction but they also represent potential. A void cannot remain empty for long.
After all, nature abhors a vacuum…
